Kansas / Missouri Certified Termite Inspector #16601.
Over 90% of all Metro-Spec Property Inspection Services home inspections include a termite report/inspection. As home inspections are performed, all home areas will be watched for any termite activity. Most regular termite inspectors only look at certain areas. The inspector will look for termites at all acessable areas of the home during the inspection process. Some areas of the home may be inaccessible, such as fixed/finished basement walls, basement floor coverings, dirt, stored items, shelving, fixed access panels, crawl spaces access under 24 inches and crawl space height under three feet, furniture, etc. All efforts are made to visually look at all home areas for any wood destroying pest activity.
Gary does not perform termite treatments as to avoid conflicts of interest. Pest extermination companies that do termite checks for free, are free for a reason. Use caution when getting a free termite inspection from a termite treatment company. I, or your agent, can suggest some good termite treatment companies that you, or the seller of the home, can choose from if termites are found.
Pest management tips are included in the folder that you will receive after the inspection. This information will help you in controlling several types of pests and insects.
89% of all termite activity can be found in basement, foundation, and crawl space areas. Access to these areas is critical for a proper termite inspection. Termites need food, moisture, protection, and moderate temperatures to thrive in a colony. The earth in Kansas and Missouri is a natural place for subterranian termites to live. Termites have been found by this inspector at exterior foundation wood landscape timbers in 35 degree weather.
